First read-through of The Mermaid and the King.
A new physical radio production, with the actors performing as through in a live radio production. Doing some amazing voice acting, while producing sound effects live from the stage.
The Mermaid and the King is a weaving together of 3 classic folk tales into a new tale with a very modern theme.
It is a shortish piece of 60 minutes that will be performed in 2 30 minute halves as part of our Folktale project and will be performed alongside other folktales and folktale-inspired yarns, which will include open mic slots.
Rehearsals we be via a combination of face-to-face and online (via Zoom) rehearsals. Dates and times of rehearsals will be worked out around the availability of the cast.
There will be 3 performances, and since it is radio style the actors do not need to learn the lines!
The performances will take place in the run-up to Christmas. Dates will be finalised around the availability of the cast.

In 2024, I am taking to the skies and taking part in the first charity Wing Walk on the Isle of Wight in aid of the wonderful Mountbatten Hospice on the island who looked after my lovely Dad and our whole family in his final weeks.
